Southampton Marrow Medical Conference
30/09/2026

About this event
Southampton Marrow is a part of the network of lifesaving students who work with the blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan. There are over 50 Marrow groups, with hundreds of student volunteers (like us!) in universities across the country, who are all working towards one thing - saving the lives of people with blood cancer.
Every 13 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant could be their last chance of survival. At Anthony Nolan, we match incredible people willing to donate their stem cells, to people with blood cancer who are in desperate need of a lifesaving transplant.
We have paired with the Nurses at the BMT & CT to raise awareness of blood cancer, marking the end of the month with an awareness raising conference. We will have talks from researchers, staff and volunteers who all contribute to combating blood cancer. We will be discusing blood cancer, treatment and patient storys, money raised will be split between the two charities.
Anthony Nolan will use the funds to continue their life saving work.
For the Nurses your money will support the refurbishment and
expansion of C6 at University Hospital Southampton. This will include a neutropenic garden close to C6, where patients can safely leave their room to enjoy the benefits of nature.
